Animation on LED walls for events – what options are available? Part 1

Our animation studio is among the firsts in Hungary to animate LED walls and screens for events, galas, and conferences. As digital technology spreads, more and more surfaces are available to event organizers, so now at a modern event, every surface may be digital, which was a banner or poster a few years ago.

Since we receive a lot of requests to explain the animation options for an event and what materials are there in our portfolio, in this post we will list all the services that have been ordered from us in recent years. In line with the unique pace of the event world, we can prepare these animations in just a few days.

Name tag, introduction animation

These introduce conference speakers and guests in a dramatic and visually impressive way. They are made with music and typically last until the guest reaches the stage. We produce the most from this type and our best-known works are the name inserts created for the hungarian TEDx conferences. They are typically justified if the speaker is famous or if the conference really wants to honor its speakers. We could talk about this so much that we dedicated a separate post to the topic.

Multiple LED walls, cohesive stage design

If there is more than one (typically 3, but up to 5, 7, or 9) LED walls on a stage, it is advisable to create an animated display on them that takes their spatial location into account and connects them together into a single, massive visual experience. This requires serious planning, but the result speaks for itself. This is also an area that we have dedicated a separate post to.

Sponsor wall animation

The placement of sponsors’ logos is usually strictly regulated, and the logos are placed in relation to each other according to the sponsors’ contributions. That is why the logos are usually not animated on sponsor wall animations, and to avoid conflicts with branding books, they are always placed on a uniform white or black surface. We have several options for movement, we can bring up or float down the logos one by one, or there has already been a request for them to swim in large individually while we see all the logos in small. What is certain is that the background of the sponsor wall is animated in an abstract loop that fits the brand, which creates a much more interesting and dynamic effect than if we just saw a fixed image. The sponsor wall animation is also very good because it can be displayed on a commonly used LED wall during program breaks or when the script requires it.

An event title / logo animation

An almost inevitable element of every event. Typically a recurrent motif, played during the reception, during the program, whenever there is a need for it. These works do not differ much from our traditional animated logos. The only difference is that there is no sound with them, and they are optimized for event surfaces, which means their resolution and aspect ratio range widely. The largest such animation we have made was for FINA, played on a 45-meter (ca. 150 feet) wide LED wall. Another possibility is to link them with the other animations so that they can be played in an infinite loop together.
